"Back to the FutureEO" Conference

The “Back to the Future EO” Conference is promoted by Planetek Italia in the framework of the ESA’s Living Planet Symposium (13-17 May, Mi.Co. Centre, Milan, Italy). The event is part of Planetek’s 25-year anniversary celebration, and is co-organized with ESA and EARSC.
Concept
What is the state of the EO industry? What are the challenges and opportunities for the near future?
The main idea of the conference is to provide the audience with an overview of the state of the EO industry, starting from "the PAST" and looking towards "the FUTURE”. The conference panel is composed by ESA, EARSC, Planetek and other industry leaders.
The event will be also the occasion to share Planetek’s experience as contributor in the EO sector and in ESA programmes during the last 25 years. A glance will be given at the most recent trends and developments, as: Geo-analytics, Artificial Intelligence, blockchain, Sustainable Development Goals, satellite onboard data handling and services development, and so forth.
A round table led by EARSC will host industry representatives to illustrate experiences and challenges concerning the future of Earth Observation.
The ESA Director of EOP, Josef Aschbacher, will hold the closing speech of the conference.
